Hi Ginny,

Thank you for the information, yes they are all my relatives, I have since come upon the Union Co Heritage book. There were Two William White's in attendence at the Lower Fairforest Bapist Church, an older one b.1856 d.1829 of which there is a Rev War Memorial plaque displayed at the current Lower Fairforest Baptist Church in Union (I feel he is a relative), and our William b.1776 d.1829, they died the same year, Our Wm was married to Elizabeth Boatman, dau of Waterman Boatman. His Father Robt White Sr moved to Spartanburg after his death, lived with Robt Jr., Sr was 86 at this time.

I have about every piece of information on BF White ever written, (I think), to the present day, seems his style of music is making a come back among the young today, now have Sacred Harp gatherings in 25 states, attracting believers and non-believers, they see this style as a challenge, and something 'new'.

Our family has been stuck in SC for many years, only recently have I discovered some new information. Mildred Whitehead may be the daugther of William Whitehead of Laurens Co SC, everybody was looking at the abstracted Will's, the original was thought to have been lost, I found it attached to a 1825 Administration Bond, Wm Whitehead died 1805 in Laurens. I tracked him from Granville NC to Caswell Co NC to Laurens, he and a Robert White were in Caswell together from 1781 to 1787, Robt left Caswell at this time, Wm Whitehead left and arrived in Larens next to Union Co 1789/90'ish, Our Robert arrived (1st rcd) Padgett Crk Baptist 1788. I am hoping, I am on the right tract.

Anyway, the ORIGINAL WILL of Wm Whitehead, d.1805 clearly shows one daughter as MILLA WHITE, NOT Milla Whitehead as all the Will abstract books show, her sisters are also shown in the will with their husbands surnames, Milla appears to be the oldest, this was a critical error, for our family. Robert White was witness to a Caswell Co NC deed of Wm Whitehead, also sold land in Laurens Co to a Charter Nickols, with a Witness of Robert Shaw, both Shaw and Nickols were the executors of William Whitehead's Will/Estate, of Laurens Co d.1805, also Witnessing to deed were son William White, and Lewis Rhodes, who was married to Robert White sr's daughter Mary Polly White Rhodes.

I am having difficulty finding information on Laurens Co, sure wish they were Gen Friendly like Union and Spartanburg.

Have studied all of Robert White Sr's children, at least the surviving 10. We are related to just about everybody, in this area, it seems, when I started my research in SC about 5 years about, thought I'd be in and out in a few months... ha! Five years later... the story continues and I continue to find information on our different linesages.

Ginny, are you related to the White's ???? just curious, our generation 2 married into, the BOATMAN, MURPHY, RHODES, COOPER, GIBBS, GOLIGHTLY, BOBO, BULLINGTON, BEDINGTON(suspect Bedington is wrong spelling, as I have never found this name except at the Padgett), married our Stephen White. And from generation 2 to 3 we married into about everybody elses line... so it appears.

Forgive the long note, you hit a nerve.

Thank You,
Mike White
