According to my records, Ezekiel Harrelson was the son of Burgess Harrelson. Burgess Harrelson served in the American Revolutionary War. Burgess Harrelson was born about 1718 in New Hanover Co. VA. He made his will in 1772 in Orange Co. NC. His wife's name was Elizabeth. Her maiden name has been published as Gains and Green. Since no marriage record has been found her maiden name cannot be verified unless sone one finds a Will naming her as the wife of Burgess Harrelson. His children were:
1) Elijah b. abt 1740 in VA died 1789 Caswell Co. NC married Sarah Barnett
2) Elisheaber married Elkanah Harrelson (prob. a cousin)
3) Drusetta (Drucilla born about 1750 Hanover Co. VA.
married Nathan Byars (these are my ancestors)
4) Ezekiel born about 1745-1750 Hanover Co. VA. died Sept 1779, Caswell Co. NC, made his will 6 Aug 1779
I have a copy Burgess Harrelson's Will but cannot put my hands on it right now. Danny Harrelson has written a book on the Harrelson's and he may have more info in his book.
Burgess Harrelson's father was Peter Harrelson b abt 1689
He was a sea captain (with his father)They came from Denmark, to Holland, to Virginia. Peter married Mary Chambers.
Peter Harrelson's father was Paul Harrelson. He applied for Naturaization 25 Mar. 1702 attended St Pauls Episcopal Church, Hanover Co. VA. His will was proved 5 Apr 1734.
Peter married about 1715 Rebecca Burgess.
This is a well researched family and you should not have a problem finding the Wills etc. Right now I am looking for the Estate Settlement for Burgess Harrelson. I was recently told that he did not die until 1777. I do have documentation for my data but as I said am unable to put my hands on it right now. We are related way back there. My name is Clovis Marie. I tell people that because so many thing I am a male because of my first name.
