No book in plan. Bruce Pruitt and a fellow from Cabarrus wrote a book a few years ago on the land records of Cabarrus/Mecklenburg. When that came out there wasn't much need for me to continue putting this stuff online. That, and my life changed and became hugely busy. That said, I do need to find it and see what it says about the Red Hill location.
As for the Cold Creek plantation, take a look at entries 5 and 12 at http://www.angelfire.com/nc/benjthomasofansonnc/northword.html
The map to the key is linked at the bottom. Note that this was where I stopped loading up info, soI never even cleaned up the look of the page.
About the grants. There may be another tract to the northwest that goes further back in time...I have not mapped to the northwest of the area mapped on the page. I know Phiffer did not have land to the northeast of the site.
Note the location to the White family and also it's just across the river from where others in the raid lived.
