Hi Michelle,
Leonard Sides had 2 son's as I read, and 2 daughters.
I now live in Carson City, NV and Leonad Sides and his family moved her inthe 1850's. THey lived in Washoe Valley, Franktown, about 10 miles or so north of Carson City. I am very interested in finding more info on RIchard D. Sides, which was one of his sons, the other one was William. In my great uncle Joseph Sides, family bible in Ada, OK was written that Richard D. Sides was the first county treasurer of Carson City, Utah Territory. Our archivist here told me if it's written in the bible, you must be related. When the SIDES family came out from Illinois, they found an Indian baby along the road. Adopted him and named him JOHNSON SIDES, he was Paiute Indian, and the SIDES family raised hin, taught him to read, write, and educated him. He bacame very famous, and was called to Washington D.C. and became the PEACEMAKER for the Paiute Indians. His portrait is in the Historical Society in Reno, NV. Leonard Sides named him Johnson because there was a family member named JOHNSON IN THE SIDES FAMILY.
