Need info on following names :
ZACHARIAH ROGERS and wife SARAH CHESHER of ROWAN CO. NC
ALLEN ROGERS ( possibly of Rowan or Randolph Co. NC or DAVIE Co. NC and surrounding areas )
RANDAL ROGERS ( possibly of Randolph Co. NC )
LEVI TREXLER and wife ELIZBETH 'BETSEY' FRICK
We have a ZACHARIAH ROGERS b. between 1775 - 1785 NC who is shown as Z. Rogers on the 1810 Montgomery Co.NC Census. By 1820 Zachariah Rogers had married SARAH CHESHER shown below in following record :
ROWAN CO. NC MARRIAGE RECORDS ( Mrs. McCUBBINS records ) :
ZACHARIAH ROGERS & SARAH CHESHER - - August 15th, 1820 signed by THOMAS HATCHER.
We also see other CHESHIRE family marriages in Rowan Co. NC and one such record is that of DELPHA CHESHIRE marriage record in Rowan Co. NC in 1822 and has listed MATHEW MARKLAND as the BONDSMAN.
Mathew MARKLAND of ROWAN Co. NC is related to the BENJAMIN MARKLAND and ELIZABETH MARKLAND that married into Zacharaih Rogers brothers family in OHIO and his brother is FREDERICK ROGERS b. bet. 1760-1765 NC of Hamilton Co. OHIO whose son WILLIAM ROGERS b. abt. 1785 NC married ELIZABETH MARKLAND and Fredericks daughter FRANCIS "FANNIE" ROGERS married BENJAMIN MARKLAND the brother of Elizbeth Markland. Both Markland siblings are children of THOMAS J. MARKLAND b. 1765 MARYLAND and wife ANNA MARIA SUMMERS b. 1767 MD. All the MARKLANDS trace back to the MARYLAND area and from MD into PA, with some splitting off and migrating into VA and NC with others in PA moving to OHIO.
It is unknown if Delphia Cheshire is related to SARAH CHESHER also of ROWAN CO. NC but the surname has been found to be spelled many ways including CHESHER, CHESSOR, CHESSER, CHESHIRE, and most all of them are related and living in the ROWAN CO. NC Area in the 1800 era.
Zachariah Rogers is then shown on Rowan Co. NC Census data until he left his will in 1837 Rowan Co. NC which stated the witnesses to this will are DANIEL FILE, DANIEL FRICK and LEVI TREXLER. I have nothing on DANIEL FILE but we know that LEVI TREXLER married ELIZABETH "Betsey" FRICK the sister of DANIEL FRICK. Both are children of MATHIAS FRICK and RACHEL KELLER and MATHIAS did not mention BETSEY FRICK in his will in Rowan Co. NC, however descendants tell me she is his daughter. We know the FRICKS, FILE and TREXLER families must have had connections to our ROGERS family in Rowan Co. NC as well as in Montgomery Co. NC where Zachariah's brothers FREDERICK ROGERS, WILLIAM ROGERS both are living in the 1800 Montgomery Co. NC Census. By 1810 Montgomery Co. NC their other brother JOHN ROGERS is shown and he had married SARAH BILES. Frederick Rogers moved to Hamilton Co. OHIO we believe, after the 1800 Montgomery Co. NC census, and William continued to live in Montgomery until he sold his land in NC to MATHIAS BARRINGER on Feb. 18, 1823 and then WILLIAM ROGERS and his son BASIL ( witness to this deed in 1823 ) moved with their families to Carroll Co. TN with many other ROGERS in their line as well as their neighbors in Montgomery Co.NC. Cross referrenced the names on the 1830 Carroll Co. TN Census are or were neighbors and friends in the early Montgomery Co. NC Census's.
Zachariah Rogers must have moved to Rowan Co. NC prior to 1820 or about then when he married SARAH CHESHER in that county and is on the other ROWAN CO.NC Census's after that until he left the following will :
