Your mine was in Mecklenburg County, not Cabarrus. The McGuinn Mine was near the Capps Mine. There was a heavy cluster of mines in this area. Both of the mines were mentioned in an article in The Carolina Watchman on July 6, 1882.
The location of these mines is listed on a map called "Gold Deposits of the Southern Piedmont" (Pardee and Clark, USGS Survey, Published 1948). There was also an Alexander Mine east of the Capps Mine. The mines are located somewhere off of Capps Hill Mine Road between Trade Street and Hovis Road, north of Charlotte. You may find more information in the Charlotte library. You most likely can find the exact location if you search through Mecklenburg County deeds.
I hope this has been of help.
