Seek the location of 1750's Choefington and Bradley & Sharpless Inn on the Cape Fear River. From Chester, Penn., Quakers, Bradley and Sharpless removed to Wilmington, N.C., where Capt. Richard Bradley, Sr., was a Continental Line paymaster, merchant, and commissioner of pilotage. Son Richard Bradley, Jr., was an officer of the Bank of Cape Fear. John Sharpless, III, was Bradley's father-in-law. Has archeological work and reports been done at either Choefington or the inn site? Was there a ferry crossing or bridge there?
