Jean, Dempsey Averitt (1748 - 1796)had a son named Daniel (1788 - ) who married Mary Riley on 21 Jan. 1813. They had a child named James Averitt who married (1) Civil Parker (2) Ellen Bullard. Listed below is the information that I have on this family: (a) Hawley Averitt (b) John Henry Averitt - married a Chason 1. John T. Averitt 2. James Averitt 3. Neil Averitt 4. Edward Averitt (c) Daniel Averitt (d) Taylor Averitt - married (1) Martha Bullard (2)Miss Ezzell (This may be the Zachary Taylor Averitt that you are referring to.) (e) Malcolm McDougald Averitt ( 20 Aug. 1852 - ) married a Chason 1. McIntyre Averitt 2. Mary Averitt - married a Greene and lived in Fayetteville (f) daughter - married Alex Bullard 1. Duncan J. Bullard 2. John Bullard - married Belle Williams of Sampson Co. 3. William Henry Bullard Most of the information I have on this family came from the book compiled by Herschel Strange Averitt. If this is your line I would love to have your family information as I have been trying to fill in my information the Dempsey Averitt descendants. I have a little information on the other children of Daniel and Mary Riley Averitt if this is your family and would like to have it.
