I'm glad to know your visit to North Carolina was most enjoyable. That was a good turn-out for the dinner.
You know, "a male 16-26 years old" doesn't seem to coincide with "5 sons, born 1773, 1774, 1776, 1779, and 1782" unless Sampson Sr. had a younger son (or sons) than Sampson Jr.
It's possible a son-in-law lived with them and the "less than 10 year old male" was their son, which would then make it improbable (but not impossible) to have been Isaac. I say that because, unless Sampson Sr. had sons born after 1782, the young man listed in 1810 could not have been a son, as his earliest DOB would have been 1784, two years later than Sampson Jr.
I don't know why these people didn't make it a little easier for us.
