I know approximately where the Davis home was located in about 1885. It was near Hickory Grove Baptist church, about a half mile down Center Road on the right as headed towards Bladenboro. There is now a dwelling standing there with an old, old barn - but neither are a part of the original Davis farm. I can send you a map, but there aren't any reminants of the farm that are easily distinguished. The proximity to HGBC is the only marker I've located.

His son, Isaac Ayers Davis (my GG Grandfather), had a farm on the "Oaky Grove" community. It was named "Davis Old Mill" and was situated on the Wooly branch of Crawley swamp, just upstream from the Singletary branch. I know where that dwelling was, too. There is still an old pecan tree standing where the home was.

How are you related to Isaac? He is my GGG Grandfather (obviously on my paternal side).
