Dear Forum, We have been searching for my wife's great grandfather, whose name was William Naylor. He would have been born in Washington DC somewhere between 1850 and 1860. Most likely baptized Catholic, but not known for certain. We believe he married Blanche Edelen from Piscataway, Maryland. They had at least two children that we know of: Joseph Edelen Naylor (b. 1892) and Ralph Edelen Naylor (b. 1884)both born in Washington DC. Family legend suggests that they were descended from Naylor family that owned a livery stable in Washington DC from which John Wilkes Booth or an associate George Atzerodt rented a horse that was used by Booth to get away after the assasination of Lincoln. Any information on finding this William Naylor would be really appreciated. Jim Mark |
