Thanks for the post. She was most certainly outwardly Catholic, thought indeed may have been still keeping her Jewish life a secret. Like many converso Jews, the family was forced to convert to being Catholic to avoid persecution, though eventually or sooner in many cases, just having been of converso ancestry made their life`s very dangerous, in regards to the inquisition.

The family name De Nasi is recorded as being a Jewish name , with the reference being that the name refers to being descendents of King David, and thus "princely in origin"
