I am looking for some information of the ancestors of William C Murray, born Landisburg PA,, Abt. 1838. His father was probably Samuel Murray, 1804-1877, who married Arabella Morrow, 1811-1888 (daughter of Robert and Mary Morrow). William was one of 12 children I believe. I have 1830, 1850, and 1870 census pages for the family of Samuel and they seem to match up with being William's family.All census records put them in Landisburg, Perry Co, PA. Before that, however, I know nothing about these Murrays, except "they loved a fight" (when the queen was Catholic, so the family lore goes, the Murrays were Protestant. When the Queen was Protestant.... you get the idea -- the Murrays loved a fight!) One other small fact: they were the Murrays of Tullibardine or Atholl. At least they were the clan with the orange/brown tartan! I would love to be able to connect them back through some more generations. Anyone with such information out there?
