My research is on Lewis and Clark and their Native American guide Sacajawea and her two granddaughters Barbara and Margaret Myers. One person that comes up is Hunter Tim Murphy. Actually three hunters that come up. Hunter Tim Murphy, Hunter John Myers and Hunter Robert Stuart. I will not take this any further if you think there is no connection out of these families from Pittsburgh. My research is based in a passage in Benjamin P Thomas' book titled STANTON, Abraham Lincoln's Secretary of War. In states on Page 68 a few lines down that Pittsburgh lawyer Edwin M Stanton married Ellen Hutchinson who was a descendent of Meriwether Lewis. Then the Chief White Eyes I am taking about had White Eyes Township in Ohio named after him.
