Hello Marg, I have recieved a few emails refering to Elizabeth Pearce as Elizabeth Pearn, and it seems as this may have come from shipping reports that refer to her surname as Pearn. The info I have from other sources such as the S.A Dictionary has her surname as Pearce, and as this is not my direct lineage I have not set out to get documents for this family. Can you confirm for me that Elizabeths' surname appears as PEARCE from any records you have. Johns' parents are Richard Mudge and Elizabeth Proute. I have no family information for Emma Mudge and Edward Short. I hope this helps a little, although I know from my experience with this family line that it is a complicated matter in sorting out all the details and connecting the actual family members.
