Caroline is enumerated in the 1920 TX Census, Edna, Jackson County with son Elisha and his family. Sometime thereafter, Elisha, spouse, and children relocated to Houston, Harris County. Exact location at time of "Callie's" death is not known. There are no records in the TX State archives or the counties of Jackson, Harris, or Somervell for either death or burial.
One researcher located a Penelope Caroline Taylor in the MS Census records; but, no verification that this is "one-in-the-same" as my great-grandmother.
The first record of being in TX is the 1880 Census for Bosque County. There is no record of the 1871 marriage to William M. Martin, Jr. There is speculation that this was a second marriage for both. The DC of son John Quincy references MEADOWS; the DC of daughter Beulah (Fagala) references HENDERSON; the DC of son William Thomas identifies his mother as Caroline Penelope (whereas, her Nancy Smith headstone is inscribed "Caroline Pelepin").
Names of parents unknown, reportedly from GA. County of 15-JUL-1841 birth in MS is not known. No clues as to names of siblings.
