Dawn, I found this name listed in the Social Security death index (www.familysearch.com): Dayton FRANKS Birthdate: 25 Jan 1949 Deathdate: 29 Sep 1997 Social Security Number: 432-90-1934 State where issued: Arkansas Actual death residence: Arkansas Further information from this website (just do a search for Dayton Franks): Dayton David FRANKS Birth: 25 JAN 1949 Sledge, Quitman, Mississippi Death: 29 SEP 1997 While I'm not sure if this would help, I thought I would pass it on. You should check with the Arkansas health department (website is http://www.healthyarkansas.com/faq/faq_birth_cert.html) for a death certificate for this man. This should give the names of parents if known by the informant. In addition (though I'm not sure how) you might be able to get a copy of his Social Security number application which would also give the parents' names. Post a similar query at the Quitman County, MS board if you have not already done so. Good luck, Scott
