Trannie Webster Brown, who was reared in the Splunge area of Monroe County, died at 8:25 p.m. March 20, 1964 at his home in Birmingham, Ala., after an illness of five months. He was 57. Services were held March 21 in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Amory with burial in the church cemetery. Pickle Funeral Home had charge. He was a Baptist. Mr. Brown, who was married in 1925 to Miss Jessie Sue Irvin, farmed at Splunge until he moved to Amory in 1937. He also resided in Fulton, Vernon, Ala., and Aberdeen, before moving in 1951 to Birmingham, where he was employed by Hayes Aircraft Co. He was a son of Mrs. Loncie Jones Brown of Caledonia and the late Marshall Brown.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves three sons, Robert Spurgeon Brown and Billy Brown of Birmingham, and Rayburn Brown of Ardmore, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Azell Gochanour and Mrs. Gwen Ziethaml of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Berry Carroll of Birmingham; three brothers, James of Lorraine, Ohio, J. V. of Zion, Ill., and Odell of Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs. Avaline Northington and Mrs. Pearl Mae Aldridge of Caledonia; 13 grandchildren.
