Annie Ophelia Frederick, 94, died on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 13, 1917, in the Parham community. Mrs. Frederick attended Hatley School. She lived in Hatley before moving to Amory in 2003. Retiring in 1979, she was an inspector with Red Kap in Hatley. She was a faithful member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She loved to cook and enjoyed visiting with and helping other people, gardening, reading her Bible and listening to gospel music.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Sept. 4 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors included her sons, Gene Frederick (Ethrene) of Fulton and Jimmy Frederick (Joyce) of Aberdeen; sisters, Marie Verotti of Hemet, Calif., Verdean Sharp of Copperas Cove, Texas, Judy Cox and Jewel Levy, both of Cantonment, Fla., Linda Hughes of Jumpertown, O'Clay Sloan of Amory and Mattie Upton of Hatley; a brother, William Riley Frederick of Hatley; grandchildren, Patricia Graham (Roy), Alene Frederick and Ashley Frederick; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
