Leyzunda Murah Elliot, Jr., 79, died May 10, 1973 at Gilmore Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Itawamba County and lived most of his life in the Brooks Store Community of Monroe County. He had lived in Amory for the past five years. He married Zula Mable Kirkpatrick in 1919. She died in 1962. He married Stella Bean in 1968. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, the Smithville Baptist Church and he was a Mason. Funeral services were held May 11 at Smithville Baptist Church with burial in the Smithville Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife; three sons, Victor Elliot and Herbert Elliot, both of Amory, and Ruble Elliot of Memphis; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Johnson of Amory; three sisters, Mrs. Delma Friday of Bear Creek, Ala., Mrs. J. A. Lowery and Mrs. P. B. Conwill, both of Amory; seven grandchildren.
Pickle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
