I have a copy of the marriage application between Douglas Ricky and Barbara Parsons in Elko, Nevada in 1979. The only mention of a divorce from Leonda (Brassfield) Ricky, whom he married in 1976 in Elko, Nevada, is that it supposedly occurred in 1979 in Texas. Douglas was in Utah at the time of the alleged divorce and Leonda was in Texas. A private investigator's search of Nevada, Utah, and Texas divorce records failed to turn up any court filing for a divorce. In fact, Leonda testified under oath that Douglas had her sign some papers as she got on a bus to move to Texas. He allegedly told her they were final divorce papers. The lack of these papers in the public record leaves a large question about a divorce. Could it be that these "alleged" divorce papers were actually a religious divorce document and not legal documents?
