Hello, I found a story in the Mormon records which spoke of my GGgrandfather Benjamin Duncan b 1790 Robertson Tn d 1847 Bountiful Ut. he married Miss Trull in Illinios abt 1825. They had son Enoch N Duncan 1827 Franklin Il.
In the story Ben Duncan gave to Joseph Smith a horse which Joseph named Duncan after my gggrandpa. Other Members of the Duncan were also Mormon and lived in Utah.
Did the Mormon keep census records or list of followers??? Ive searched for 10yrs to no avail to find my Ben Duncan family.
Do you know which county Joseph Smith was in when he was killed.
Ben Duncan was only on one census 1840 Il with wife and children. Ben Duncan is believe to have died 1847 Bountiful Ut.
Does this story any bells!!!
Maybe you can suggest new avenues to follow in my search!
