I came across a website listing some of the 700 passengers names and little bits of history on the eleven ships and passengers of the Winthrop Fleet that sailed from Yarmouth, Isle Of Wight to Salem. Apparently the fleet was financed by the Mass. Bay Company. Three MORLEY names appeared, they are Ralph MORLEY, Mrs. Katherine MORLEY (possibly his wife) and a Sarah MORLEY. Ralph's destination was Charlestown. Sarah's destination was (Saugus?) No info on Katherine's destination. No info on which ship each person sailed but the ships' names were: (1) Arbella (2) Ambrose (3) Charles (4) Mayflower (5) Jewel (6) Hopewell (7) Success (8) Trial (9) Whale (10) Talbot and (ll) William & Francis. #1,2,6,10 sailed April 8, 1630, the others sailed May, 1630. They arrived in June and July, 1630. I have been trying to find an England connection to Joseph M. Morley. Hope these names are helpful to someone, I have not come across any genealogy info on these three people to date except this sailing info so perhaps this is a link for some of your Morley lines. I have no confirmation of the accuracy of the above info. |
