Please help. Am searching for the parents of Vincent B. Morgan, born abt. 1813. Some sources say South Carolina, some say Georgia. By 1837 he had moved to the Wisconsin Territory and married Elizabeth McKinney in Grant Co., on 26 October 1837. Their first child, Sarah C. was born abt. 1839 Grant Co.,Wisc., and in 1840 they had a son William E. In 1842-3 they had a daughter Melinda Jane,[my line], born in Port Andrew, Richland Co., then a son Alexander abt.1845, WI and son George W. born Jan. 1850,WI. They are all together in the 1850 US Census in District 26, Richland Co., Wisc. Vincent B. was a farmer, land value 500(?). After this census Vincent disappears and the family is broken up. I know where Melinda went but want to know more about Vincent B. Where did he really come from? What happened to him after 1850? When, where and how did he die and where is he buried? What does the “B” stand for? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
