The More family that this book details, is about the family of the couple John and Betty Taylor More. They came from the Scottish Highlands to America in 1772 and settled near Roxbury, NY. Grand Gorge, NY, as it is called today, was actually called Moresville after the family. John was from Forres, Scotland and Betty was from Elgin, Scotland. The book, Chronicles of the More Family, was published 'upon the 65th anniversary of the organization The John More Association'. In 1890 a group of descendants of John and Betty More had the first family reunion and started keeping records of all 8 of John and Betty's children's families. The organization continues today and the family will gather in 2005, as we have done every 5 years since 1890...with exception to the times during the Wars. There are other publications on my family that I have. This family is the largest recorded Scottish family in America.
