I am seeking information on George or Frederick Montague (or Montaque)He was married to (I think) Elizabeth Sanders and they had a son James Sanders Montague born 11 May 1853 at Appledore, North Devon, England. His birth certificate shows his father as George although when he married he gave his fathers name as Frederick. I suspect that James' father was French and either spoke little English or did not wish to appear in official records. There is no evidence in Census Returns and even James' birth was reported by a neighbour. Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated. Gordon
