In response to your query about where the family was living in the USA, I do believe I have located them in Montgomery Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio in the 1860 Census (valid as of June 1, 1860), as "Munett."

Noel Munett, 25 yrs., male, Brick Maker, born in Canada
Julia Munett, 27 yrs., female, born in Canada
Amelia Munett, 4 yrs., female, born in Ohio
Ramey Munett, 3 yrs., male, born in Ohio
Louisa Munett, 2 months, female, born in Ohio

I have not found this family in the 1850 or 1870 Census.

Also living in Montgomery Twp., Franklin Co. in 1860 was John "Munett" (Monett) and wife Mary, who is likely the same as Noel's half-brother, Jean-Baptsite Monet b. 1823 in Quebec.

Additionally, in the 1850 Census, in Mongomery, Franklin Co., Ohio, one finds Dominic Monnett (sp?), 21 years old, laborer, born in Canada. He is living in the household of Theodore Leonard, 30 yrs. old, brick maker, also born in Canada, and his wife, Catherine, 30 yrs. old (also born in Canada).
