Hello. I recently found out that I was adopted at birth. The woman who raised me - Jeanne, has said that she was married to a Frank Mohn of Pennsylvania at the time of my adoption. I was told that I was born on 10/05/73 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pennsylvania to a woman with the last name Kelly. Jeanne has said that she was recovering from a miscarriage in Sacred Heart when she was approached by a social worker who told her of my impending birth and need for parents. Sacred Heart is currently checking their records to see what they can find. I have never seen my birth certificate - and my adopted mother claims not to have it. I am in a tough situation because my adopted mother has problems and has been very secretive through the years. No one - including my ex stepfather (who married her when I was 4), ever knew my adopted mother's family. She says that her parents died when she was a teenager, and that she was not close to her older brother and sister. She claims to come from a Lehigh Pa area Italian family with the last name Melazzo (not sure of the spelling), but has used many aliases over the years. When my stepfather met her she and I were living in an apartment in Cherry Hill New Jersey. I do not remember many things from my early childhood, and the things I do remember are quite strange. My wife thinks I may have even been abducted by this woman. I have always known my legal last name to be Girnas - it was changed to that when my adopted mother married my now ex stepfather. My wife noticed that I have some resemblance to some pictures of the Mohn boys that were posted, so maybe Frank Mohn is really my father. I do not look like the woman who raised me. My wife and I have a five year old son, so it is important to me to know my heritage, medical history and maybe even find my birth parents. If anyone out there has any information - please e mail me at: sgirnas@aol.com Thanks so much! Ryan Eric Girnas |
