I'm writing to this forum because I'm seeking for my ancestor Johann Wilhelm Fahlenbock He was born May 3, 1869 in Hamboeken, Rhineland, Germany. Due to my last information (ancestry) I think he emigrated to the US in the last Century. These are my information: 1892 Passengerlist to St. Louis 1900 US census Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas 1907 US-Citizenship 1910 US census Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri (he lived at Joplin Ward 4 in Joplin) 1913 He came back from a trip from Germany (Marriage) with his wife Adele Fahlenbock (maiden name: Hulverscheidt). Last documented residence Joplin, 311 Maine Str. Hi Tom, If you have an Ancestry subscription, search the Passport Applications file: In October 1916, Johann and Adele applied to the Consul at Barmen Germany for passports to return to Galena, Kansas. The applications reveal that they had returned to Germany again in July 1914, but that Adele had become sick and had an operation that delayed their return to USA. The passports were to be used within a year or whenever Adele was able to travel. However, I don't find any passenger list or other record indicating that they ever did return to USA. Also, there is a Joseph Fahlenbock born 1860 buried in Jasper County, Missouri - perhaps a brother of Johann? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=fahlenbock&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=54646172&df=all& (If you do not have access to the passport applications, I can download and email them) |
