When our ancestors journeyed to American, our last name was Nielsen. In Denmark, our ancestors owned a large farm called Bjerregaard. Upon our arrival to America, we took on the name of our land, like most Europeans at the time. Our surname was then changed to Byiargor, the American phonetic spelling. The family then divided, half stayed in Utah and half moved to Missouri. The Utah family assumed the actual spelling of Bjerregaard and the Missouri family changed to the correct pronunciation, Byergo. Most Utah Bjerregaard's didn't know that the Byergo's existed until last year. I am looking for information that some of the Missouri Byergo's have on our family. Any family information is welcome. Please see www.bjerregaard.us Thanks you, Shon Bjerregaard |
