No legible tombstone has been found in Christian COunty for a William, Katherine, Andrew or David Donaldson. There is one stone in the Ozark Cemetery for the surname Donaldson. It is shared by two children who died in the 1890's. Their parentage is unknown.I can't even be certain of the gender of Linnie, but they are almost surely related, probably siblings.

LINNIE       DONALDSON       1893 - 1897       Ozark
MYRTLE       DONALDSON       1890 - 1896       Ozark

Lack of records or legible tombstones is not an indication that the person did not die or is not buried here. Many, many unmarked and unrecorded graves exist. As these children are in the only city owned cemetery in the county, there may be some record of burials of which I am not aware. You might check with the city of Ozark to see if there is a listing actual burials rather than just marked graves.

All marked graves which have been found are listed on the GenWeb tombstone listings. There may be small unknown cemeteries somewhere which aren't listed, and some stones have always eroded, been vandalized or the information about the people buried there been otherwise lost.

The personal property tax lists on the transcribed records website might give an idea of when the Donaldsons died.

This is what is listed there. As Catherine is the head of the household by June 1, 1886, it certainly appears that William H. had died or something before that time, rather than in the 1890's, and since she is last listed as the head of a household on June 1, 1890, she must either have died or moved in with someone else or left.

It's POSSIBLE, though far from certain, that the Springfield newspaper might have mentioned one or both deaths. They occurred before the survival of any Christian County newpaper.
