Our family records show WIlliam as son of Azariah Sanders b. 1780 IN, d.1816 in KY, who married, March 4 1800, Zeporah Richardson (a Cherokee. She was b abt 1775 and d. June 1850 in MO. They had Sarah (Sally), Thomas, John W., Azariah Jr., Willim, Elijah, and Henry. They moved to Stone Co. MO with family of 7--perhaps passing through IN and/or IL since William's oldest sister Sally (m Ezekiel Inman) died in childbirth in Parke Co IN and his younger brother Elijah was married there (to Charlotte Sexton)in 1837. (but his older bother, Azariah Jr. was married to Hannah Sawyer in 1840 in Coles Co, ILL).
By the mid 1840s Azariah, William, Elijah, John W.and mother Zeporah were near Hurley, MO. Elijah owned land on the James River in Stone or Christian Co. Some of the family is buried in cemeteries near Crane and near Hurley. William (and probably Elijah)is said to have been buried in the "Sanders Cemetery" which was too near the James River. They say that after a flood one time, the bodies of the Sanders and their relatives were moved to the Delaware Cemetery near Nixa.

Azariah's will was probated in 1816 in Hardin Co, KY where the older kids were born. If someone finds out who his parents were I would also like to know. I have 8 children and some spouses for WIlliam and Rachel. Were Rebecca and George married? If you can add to this and give William's grandchildren and spouses, I'd like to know that, too.
