Benton Township would have been the northeastern most voting district in early Christian County. All of the current precincts of East Benton and West Benton Townships as well as part of the current Bruner Township were formed from Benton Township. It joined Webster and Greene Counties along its north edge, Douglas County on its east side.

The official list of post offices of Christian County does not include the name Mornington, and it has not previously been reported as any place name in Christian County. Some names of communities in Benton Township were Abadyl, Cowan, Gertrude, Glossa, Petelo, Sherrow, LaRose, Bruner, Olga, Elm Grove and Wattsville

What was the source of the name Mornington, and what time period does that source pertain to?

It there a family or person in Benton Township who you are researching. I may have information if they lived in Christian County, but some people did arrive and leave without creating many official records.

Sorry. I don't know of any concentration of photographs of Benton Township.
