I forgot to tell you that there was NO ONE named Matilda born 2 October 1861 in Ödskölt parish, so I do think there was a date error.
It is very common, by the way, for descendants to think that the Swedes passed down last names from generation to generation as many countries do, but that custom was different in Sweden. Patronymics, in which the father's given name plus a possessive s and "son" for male children and "dotter" for female children was the norm.
Therefore, I think that there was a misunderstanding about her father having the same last name as your Mathilda did.
