As the saying goes, "I live on the other side of the planet."

Live in Portland, Oregon, United States of America.

Here, it is still raining, more coming so the weather reports go.

Bad timing on my part, am in the process of moving. Finally found another decent, clean, safe, somewhat, apartment.

Well safe, is iffy, at best. On ground floor. But had to make tradeoffs, not unlike our ancestors did.

Circumstances always dictate how each of they and us live and have lived our lives.

Thank you and enjoy your Holiday.

Bank holidays are few and far between here, and employees always have to make up the time anyway. So having a day off, just means that there will be 1 day weekends before or after them.

SOP in this modern age of business.

Our ancestors had none of what we enjoy today.

Most of course, had NO HOLIDAYS as such as we know them.

Theirs was one of work from dawn to dusk, and only rested on the sabbath day, SUNDAY.

Almost completely unhead of today.

Still would be interesting to find any present day male MILLS of that line, to do a DNA test, just to see how they would shake out of the greater MILLS tree.

Best for your future research as well.
