it says " Rose's mother Emily James DuCharme died 1903/1904 while living in Atkinson (no burial found). "
but on the 1910 census, a Emma Ducharme 35 yrs-old is enumerated in Staumbaugh township with husband Louis Ducharme and three daughters: Eva, Edith and Mildred.
Did Louis remarry?
From the Quebec Drouin Vitals Collection - there is a Louis de Gonzague Ducharme, born and baptized on 27 march 1860, at Ste. Geneviève Parish of Berthierville, Québec, son of Etienne Ducharme, farmer, and Marguerite Blais
Sponsors were Louis de Gonzague Trinque and Emélie Ducharme.
Louis de Gonzague will use just the short name "Louis".
Etienne Ducharme, was a "Charon dit Ducharme". He died on Aug 9, 1871. Thus on the 1881 census, Marguerite, Etienne's widow is head of the household.
Although, I can find info on the other members of the household, I have yet to find traces of Louis in Québec after 1881.
The May 1862 DOB given on the 1900 census could be misleading. DOB's and ages on earlier census are often variable. The 1930 and 1940 census gave more reliable dates. And a 1860 year of birth would be closer to reality.
I think this "Louis Ducharme" from Berthierville is a potential candidate.
