Hi! I thought I would try to help out with your questions, but I didn't find much. The microfilm copies of the Burr Oak Acorn, as far as I can tell, don't go back to 1851. I checked with the Sturgis Journal and that doesn't go back that far either. I did find the Yaple family on the 1850 Census. They also had a daughter Harriet L. who was 14 in 1850. There were a couple more Tubbs on the 1870 Census, Lucius and Silas in St. Joseph County, Michigan. Back to Henry...the 1850 Census says he was born in NY and she in CT. The two children were born in OH. There was also a Joseph and Cordelia Tubbs on the 1850 Census. Joseph was 30 and a miller by trade. Cordelia was 25. He was born in OH and she in NY. I will keep trying to find out what was going on back then and IF I find something I will let you know. Or if you think of anything else that might be helpful to me to research, let me know that too!
