I am looking for any information regarding the Albert R.
Lepley family that lived in Burr Oak. Albert married
Eva Vroman. They had several children. One was my
husband's grandmother, Helena B. Lepley who was born in 1911. She married Harry Chorpening in 1933. We are
particularly interested in Helen's life from birth to
1933. If anyone has any information, please contact us
at the e-mail listed. We know that grandma was valedictorian of her high school but we do not know if
it was Burr Oak, Colon, or Sturgis. She said years ago
that in the winter they moved from the farmhouse on
Lepley Road to town so that they would be closer to school.
Grandma later on attended Kalamazoo College. (1930?)
We also need to know who Joseph Lepley was and how he
is connected to our Lepley family. We know he served
in the Civil War and was wounded. We also believe that
he was the same Joseph Lepley that was killed when his
horse and buggy collided with a steam engine at the
Fisher Road crossing near Burr Oak.
