You may never find a birth record for George Bunker for the following reason: Michigan did not require birth and/or death registration until 1867. Since Mich. was very rural at that time not mant counties complied. Most births took place at home and therefore it was the family's responsibility to register the birth. There was most likely a fee for the registration service.
