Passed away Monday, November 28, 2005. She was born December 24, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Frisbie) Emmons and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and had been employed by Gibson Guitar Company for 22 years. Lorraine loved crafts of all kinds, and while in Florida, she made hats for the premature babies in the hospital. She also made "ouchie" dolls for small children while they were getting their shots, and made many of her own clothes and special afghans. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Martin Thysse; her children, Brenda (James) Moser of Orlando, FL, Carol (Tom) Olmstead of Mattawan and Wendy Thysse of Oshtemo Township; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Sally Cruz and a brother, Richard Emmons. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Pastor Chuck Rawsthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-6 PM.
