Searching for info on James McINTYRE, also spelled McINTIER/McINTIRE, claimed to be born in St. Lawrence county, NY abt.1836 on his Civil War enlistment papers. He lived in Kalamazoo County and St. Joseph County, Michigan. Married Mary Emily WHALEY. One son, James E.McIntyre,
born Mar 11, 1864. James, the father, died May 14, 1865 in the Civil War in Williamsburg, NC.
Mary Emily and son James E. moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska, with her parents, John and Elizabeth PORTMAN WHALEY,
where Mary married a Hugh G. WRIGHT. They had two daughters, Anola and Harriet WRIGHT. Son James E. married Dora V.
FRY Aug 18, 1867. Later abt. 1881, moved to Box Butte County, NE and homesteaded.
That family which included children, with last name of McINTIER: John Ernest, Leslie E., Alice E., Eva E., James, Raymond E. and children with last name of McINTYRE: Harry and Lee Emerson, moved to Colorado Springs, CO. I Would appreciate any information on this family or the Whaleys. Thanks!
