Jane Ross, daughter of Chief John Ross, married 1st Return Jonathan Meigs the 4th, son of Timothy Meigs and grandson of the Indian Agent Col. Return Jonathan Meigs. There are a great many descendants of Col. Meigs who were named Return Jonathan Meigs. Do you have the date of the birth of your grandfather? A great grandson of Return Jonathan Meigs the 4th and Jane Ross was born in 1903 and is designate as Return Jonathan Meigs the 13th, son of John Henry Meigs, on a chart compiled by another R. J. Meigs in 1939. Perhaps this is your Return. All of these Returns can be very confusing.
