My great-grandparents, Octave Nadeau and Arthémise Côté, might have been married in the US (Brooklyn Maine, perhaps), about 1882, but likely before 1884. Their 2nd son was born and baptised in Brooklyn Me in April 1887. Other relatives might have lived there also. I am hoping that a marriage record will confirm Octave's lineage for me. He died in April 1900 in a train collision, and was possibly the son of François-Xavier Nadeau and Marie Turgeon.
Octave's wife, Arthémise Côté, was the daughter of Paul Côté and Marie Desneiges Paré, who settled in Verner Ontario Canada in the early 1880's. I have a fair bit of info on her, but missing that elusive marriage record...it IS possible they were married in the Rivière-du-Loup area of Québec, or in Ontario.
If you have any information about Octave and Arthémise's marriage records, or have some questions to help you narrow the search, please do not hesitate to reach me. And of course, photos are always such a lovely surprise!
