If you believe what the Maine politicians are saying about the state of Maine and its name origin, there is real good, save, and healthy land for sell, cheep in Sendai, Japan. Politicians do not know how to read facts and tell the truth. There is an original Map that says the Origin of the name was probably Mayne's Point a prominent feature of the first settled land in Maine.
