Thank you, Patricia, for the information about Elisha Whitney and family of Hampden, Maine, and for the references. I look forward to adding numerous cousins to my records. Apparently the information I received from family members was incomplete as to the number and names of Elisha's and Mary's children and there is no reason to suspect the accuracy of 18 Dec 1852 as their marriage date.
