I am a descendant of John Rooks/Ruark from Georgia. He was my 4th Grt Grandfather. As far as I can tell my Rooks/Ruark family migrated down from Maryland to GA. Can anyone tell me the origin of the Rooks/Ruark surname? I have heard that it was either French, German or Scotch-Irish. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You
