Thanks Bruce, My William Emery line is very hard to trace back. Have records where a william Emory was in Count Pulaski company in Rev. War. Somewhere the name was changed in the spelling. Records have (Emery) in filing his will. All these records are in Surry Co. VA. Just trying to find out where he came from and who his parents were.
there was a Samuel Emerie, Maryland, Sergeant on the Rolls of Count Pulaski's Legions. Though maybe my William Emery ( Emory) might be kin to This Sanuel. People changed the spelling of Surnames so easily back then.
Also William Emery named one of his daughters Sarah.
So I am just fishing trying to find out about my William Emery who Married Ruth Thompson, don't know where yet.
Thanks so much for your info. Please keep me in mine if you run across a
