My mother, Maurine McLemore Butler, passed away on February 5, 2007 in Jackson, Tennessee. She was 92. She was a descendant of the Scottish immigrant Abraham McLemore and was born in Gibson County, TN. Her parents were James Knox McLemore and Lennie Ethel Luckey. Grandparents were James Knox Polk McLemore (1843-1908) and Margaret Caroline Jackson (1855-1932) Maurine McLemore married Fred I. Butler in Gibson County in 1935. Some of you may be familiar with my mother, and this is to help you update your family history information. She was quite a woman.
