After reading the above messages, I think what Linda wrote is right on. We reply with information about what we know and want to share with others, tho it has nothing to do with the post title.
I am not smart on the internet, mostly because I don't keep good records of my password (tho I have one account but different passwords) and I have only half an hour usually to fire off some info off the top of my head. I think I do this because it is easy to reply by pushing the post button (tho now we do have to have the pass & user, I see).
Larry, I know you are loaded with information. I do not know of the Lewis
line. I think your info is after the time-frame of Marjory and Wm., one of the sets of family I have seen as parents of my Samuel, d. 1780. They are shown as parents, also, of David, and Thomas, all came from Ire. to U.S.
Linda, I feel your info is well documented. I don't recall seeing Hugh listed as a parent of these boys.
I read that yesterday-not sure what you wrote, but I have been wondering, after all this, whom do you think the parents of David, b.1710, were, and who were his likely bros. If David is not, one, I'm sure, was father of my Sam'l. I feel like I am an intimate friend of the family of David. I think his Thomas is one you can read about and get bad info. His land was bought by his sisters husband. Wrong. Some say his daughter, but he supposedly had no kids.
I, too, do not know of the Lewises, Larry, but what could I do to find out about the graves in a cemetery north of Greensburg? It's my best bet. I was told about an article in about 1938?? written about Capt.Robert McKee, d.1814,and his brother, my Sgt.Sam'l McKee, d.1780,who were to be honored posth., on Memorial Day. Both lived and died in Westmorland, Hempfield Tsp. Thanks, Donna
