It has to do with Civil War Major James Ryan who was my great grandfather Jacob Myers' business partner in McKeesport. He was killed by a horse on Shaw Street April 19 1887 and he made the front page news in McKeesport.

From that news story, I have been chasing gravestones at Versailles Cemetery. Since Hiram B Sinclair was the head Pall Bearer, I thought I would start with him. He is buried in Lot 35 sec E and his mother was Elizabeth McKee the daughter of one of the McKee brothers of McKeesport. Sometimes I hear James and other times I hear John. It really doesn't matter to me at this time.

Hiram B Sinclair is buried with his mother and father and grandfather. Clairton PA was named after this family. They are buried next to Henry Myers from Baltimore in lot 34 and Henry Myers family was married into what was known as the Dunseith and Lewis family. The were riverboat builders in Elizabeth PA and they are in Lot 99 sec D. Thomas Dunseith made the 1800 Census.

Thomas Dunseith who was my ggggrandfather was born around 1765 and he was a flatboatman who drifted his flatboat from Pittsburgh to New Orleans and walked back. His family was married into some French shoemakers. I guess the Dunseith and Lewis family did a lot of walking. Thomas Dunseith's business partner was Alexander Lewis. That is why the notation on lot 99 at Versailles is noted as the Dunseith and Lewis Lot. They are buried next to the Sill's of Col Jessie Sill of the War of 1812.

I have more if interested.
